Thanks to its off-the shoulder neckline, beaded bodice and dramatic A-line skirt, the gown has drawn comparisons to the delightfully frothy Jenny Packham gown worn by Kate Middleton during the state visit to Jamaica in 2022. The then Duchess of Cambridge made headlines around the world when she stepped out in the tulle confection for the dinner hosted by the Governor General at the King’s House – and it is possible the Dutch royal family were among its fans.
In recent years, Princess Catharina-Amalia has become an increasingly public figure and has made a number of solo engagements as she prepares for her future life on the throne. However she is juggling her royal duties with further studies. After graduating with a degree in politics, psychology, law and economics, the Princess of Orange is now preparing to embark on a law degree. Following in the footsteps of her father, who served in the Royal Netherlands Navy for two years, Princess Catharina-Amalia will also train as a military reservist through the two‑year Defence College programme, alongside her law degree.
With so much on her plate, it would make perfect sense for Princess Catharina-Amalia to look to emulate other royal women – and it is difficult to imagine a better role model than the Princess of Wales.
