Gonda MP and Union Minister of State for Environment, Forest and Climate Change Kirti Vardhan Singh was elected on Monday for the post of President of the 165-year-old Anjuman-e-Hind Awadh Parivar, formerly known as the British India Association.
The royal families of Mankapur and Balrampur faced each other in the election. Kirti Vardhan Singh defeated Jayendra Pratap Singh of the Balrampur royal family by a huge margin of 130 votes today.

Voting began at 9 am on Monday at the Safed Baradari in Lucknow’s Kaiserbagh and continued until 4 pm. A total of 236 votes were cast. In the results announced after 5 p.m., Kirti Vardhan Singh received 183 votes, while Jayendra Pratap Singh of the Balrampur royal family received 53 votes.
Minister in the Yogi Adityanath government and Raja of Tiloi, Mayankeshwar Sharan Singh, Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Seth and Former MP Rani Ratna Singh also cast votes in this election.
The voters of the approximately 165-year-old Anjuman-e-Hind, Awadh Parivar (old name British India Association) include a total of 322 former royal families and talukdars.
It is noteworthy that the father of Union Minister Kirti Vardhan Singh was the president of this organization for 28 years. After his death this year, the post of president was vacant. This 165-year-old organization is also known as Anjuman-e-Hind. Rajas and talukdars of 14 districts of Awadh are included in it.
