Her ending statement resonates: they’re lying, paying money and protecting Scientology. They’re not innocent bystanders but accomplices to the cult’s crimes

So… just as smart as the characters he plays. Great.

Yuuuup. And as she highlights, it’s no excuse to be born into this. At a certain point, you’re an adult and can’t keep blaming your values on your parents.

    4. For anyone not aware of the Ribisi Scientology connections, both the parents have been members since the 60s and both were (if my recollection serves me) sea org members at one time. Gay Ribisi his mother has the rather infamous note of being an agent for child actors, as well as her own kids she took on other Scientology families kids so is largely responsible for launching the Masterson family kids careers. Al Ribisi his father was in a lot of the Scientology in-house bands being a musician himself and there’s a great documentary out called Brothers Broken about late 60s band People! which Al was in with a number of other Scientology musicians. The band had a big hit but then disbanded as the members were pressured to fire the lead singer due to him being the only non-Scientologist. The documentary focuses on Geoff and Robbie Levin, two of the other members of the band who spent decades unable to speak because Robbie left Scientology and Geoff stayed in meaning Robbie was considered an enemy. People! came back together as a group a few years ago with all the members aside from Al Ribisi as he was the only member still in Scientology and recorded a new album. It’s a really interesting documentary.

The one thing to say about the Ribisi is that they all, including Vonni himself, supported Danny Masterson during his trial, and ultimate conviction, for multiple rapes. As a longtime anti-Scientology activist I’d long since cast them all into the trash can of eternity for supporting a dangerous human trafficking, financial crime committing, sex crime covering cult, but supporting a rapist against his victims who were also members of your “church” is just the icing on the cake.
