      I know they’ve given it to Kissinger so they aren’t above atrocious decisions but giving it to Trump is the fastest way shoot their credibility because people are more aware of Trump’s bad decisions than they are of other politicians

      I think a lot of people are setting themselves up for disappointment by assuming they’d never award Trump the Peace Prize. Here are a few dubious winners of the past:

      • Henry Kissinger. Yes, *that* Henry Kissinger.

      • Barack Obama, of civilian drone strikes fame.

      • Shimon Peres, the Israeli PM considered the architect of Israel’s nuclear weapons program.

      Official nominations to be considered had to be entered by January 31 so unless he did something completely remarkable in his second term in 10 days, he’s not getting it and he’s going to whine because that’s what he does and he’s going to exaggerate and lie because that’s what he does.

      The fact that the media is hyping this up and publishing these stories, as if this loser has any chance or any serious potential here, it’s further proof of mainstream media, bending the knee to this asshole because they want to flatter him .

      I’ve accepted he’ll win it. It seems like an easy way for Norway to appease the man. It stopped meaning anything after Kissinger won it. What’s another war criminal honored?

      Not to sound insensitive, but what are they “bracing for?”  He’s not going to bomb Norway.  He can’t send ICE there.  Worst case, he posts some mean words on Truth Social.

      Sorry Nobel, but if you’re worried about this then this is your own doing. You gave it to Obama for…what exactly? Potential? Which he promptly drone struck away over the rest of his presidency.       I think the idea that a vast contingent of highly intelligent and successful people, with connections to power or in power themselves, are on tenterhooks due to a criminal and narcissitic gasbag, is utterly fascinating. What this poor excuse for a human really needs is to be told to Fuck Off and learn to play well with others.
