I mean, say what you want about her, but she certainly knows how to make a hit.
maybe a hot take but i think taylor swift tried to do what sabrina’s doing with the showgirl travesty and failed miserably

I’m sorry I just cannot get over the album art. It’s sad that a lot (if not most of the vocal people) tossed that aside. Yes she made an alternate cover, but she didnt rescind the one that upset most feminists. Most of all, she did not apologize. She stood by her choice and made fun of the criticisms several times. Not once even said “I understand why this is upsetting, and I respect you. My vision was x. This is (the legitimate) reason I decided to still release the cover. At the very least show that you were empathetic and have looked at if from our POV…
And she’s the same now. She’s still calling the paps so that she can use her tiny, horrified dog as a prop to promote the album just for the teehee of her act. That alone says a lot. I like confidence, I really do not like selfishness, and she’s clearly very self centered and overly cocky. She could’ve chosen to show it’s a kink that has it’s detached space in the world. But she wore normal clothes and has the (seemingly rich) guy in a suit.
She knows she can get away with it, bc she has so many young fans (including all the ones she mocks) who don’t get it yet. Bc they’re in the beginning or middle of making out the world, life, and the social categories that opress and harm them. It make some late teens uncomfortable, but otherwise these dynamics are normalized. Lolita is fine (no one will ever convince me it’s not. Regardless of Nabakov’s intentions, it’s beloved by pdfs, makes them feel acceptable. Men dominate and control women’s bodies and lives, we are powerless. And what a horrible time to do that.

I have never once purposely listened to “espresso” or “please please please” and yet I could sing them to you perfectly because last summer it would have been impossible for me to escape them.
I have not heard a single song from Sabrina this year. I’ve seen uproar over an album cover and the heard she’s on Taylor’s new album.
The only point of “fibbing” in this case is to manipulate people to sell her new album. Just remember if people need to lie to you, it’s because they think you wouldn’t do what they want if you were told the truth.
I only know Expresso. From her new album I don’t think I ever heard any song…
