    1. I actually think this kind of stunt is cloying and unproductive, and perhaps we allow too much leeway to dog-lovers than to dogs themselves.

Before reading the actual letter (I went to ONTD Uni and came straight to the comments first), I thought this was going to be BAD, but tbf it does read as a bit tongue-in-cheek imo.

    3. As a certified cat lady, I actually thought this was really cute lol it was obviously made to be humorous

    4. Pretty sure this is a very pointed satire. I imagine it’s somewhat of a response to the “AI Actress”.

Awards shows are such meaningless ego strokes that allowing animal actors as recipients makes sense. Flipper, Eddy from Fraser I know these names more than I know my own grandmothers: Mr Ed, Lassie, Keiko from Free Willy, home grown Simpsons stuff.

    6. You guys are taking this way too seriously.
It’s obviously satire, no need to cancel Indy 🐶

    7. I guess I’m in the minority here lol. This is adorable and I would welcome that category happily.

They should consider actors that work with motion capture, like Andy Serkis, and voice actors for animated films (there should be more awards for animation beyond just “best film…” too).

    9. why are people taking this so seriously, its just a stupid joke and people are like “oh wow im disappointed” lmfao

    10. It’s clearly not meant to be taken seriously. This doesn’t deserve as much hate as it’s receiving.

    11. don’t see why everyone hates this, it’s clearly meant to be a silly little joke, and in this day and age i’ll take any lightheartedness i can get.

The post literally says this is satire, why are so many people taking it so serious? It’s cute and funny!
