The fall of Ryan Adams (or rather, the long overdue exposure of Ryan Adams) a few years back was disappointing to me as a huge fan of Whiskeytown and Ryan’s when I was a teenager – haven’t listened to him since. He was always a mess, but when it became obvious that his “messiness” was actual abuse, manipulation, and dickhead behaviour towards others, I just couldn’t anymore. I know a lot of people can separate the art from the artist, but for some reason, I was just never able to shake the skeeviness with Ryan.
This is the most nonsensical bullshit – I see he’s talking about Phoebe and Mandy (because yes, blame all of YOUR problems and behaviour on women), but mostly this is complete gibberish. He needs to just fuck off, maybe go to rehab and therapy, and shut up at this point.
