Diane Keaton, Oscar-Winning Actress, Dead at 79

    Hollywood is mourning the loss of Diane Keaton. The legendary actress who was known for her roles in The Godfather and First Wives Club passed away at the age of 79. According to People magazine, there are no further details on her death at this time. Born in Los Angeles in 1946 as Diane Hall, the star got her start in show business in 1968 in Broadway’s Hair as an understudy. A year later, she would star in Woody Allen’s 1969 Broadway show Played Against Sam, earning her her first Tony nomination. In 1972, Diane, who is now known as Diane Keaton, starred in Alpuchccino’s The Godfather as Kate Adams. The love interest of Alpuccino’s Michael Corleรณ, a role that catapulted her to fame. Her on-screen credits also include 1995’s Father of the Bride, which she described to Vulture in 2020 as quote so touching, 1996’s The First Wives Club, also starring Goldie Han and B. Middler as well as her most recent collaborations with the director Nancy Meyers the book club franchise.
