What Diane Keaton Has Said About Never Getting Married
Diane Katon played many roles in her life, but wife was never one of them. Prior to the actress’s October 11th death at the age of 79, Diane had been outspoken about why she decided to never make the walk down the aisle. Most recently, telling people in a May 2019 interview, “I think that I’m strange. I think I’m the only one in my generation and maybe before who has been a single woman all her life. However, the Oscar winner, who survived by her adopted children, 29-year-old daughter Dexter and 25-year-old son Duke, insisted she had no regrets about not settling down, explaining, “I’m not sad because I think I needed more of a maternal aspect. I don’t think it would have been a good idea for me to have married, and I’m really glad I didn’t, and I’m sure they’re happy about it, too. I’m an oddball.” But the one thing Diane did have some remorse over was her dating history, which included her famous co-stars such as Woody Allen, Warren Bey, and Alpuccino, saying, “When I was young, I was looking to be loved by these extraordinary people. I think I should not have been so seduced by talent. I should have just found a nice human being, kind of a family guy. [Music]
