Nicole Kimman is getting candid about her new life changes during an interview with Vogue that occurred shortly before she filed for divorce from Keith Urban. The actress alluded to facing a new chapter, telling the outlet, “How many times do you have to be taught that you think you know where your life is going and that it isn’t going in that direction?” And while news of her breakup hadn’t been shared by the time she sat down for the interview in late August, at the time of publishing on October 8th, Nicole sought to legally end her 19-year marriage to Keith just a week earlier, lending new perspective to her comment. The Oscar winner also reflected on what it means to protect her peace in other parts of her life, including not attending the 2024 Venice Film Festival, where she was to be awarded best actress after the death of her mother, Janelle Kidman. recalling, “Everyone was saying, you’ve got to still go and accept the award.” And I just sat for a minute and I went, “No, I can’t. I don’t, and I won’t. My sense of duty and of being a good girl is so strong. At this age, I’m protecting myself when I need to. It’s my right. It’s my right as a human being. [Music]
