As Alex witnesses Billy painfully straining herself on the magical portal, she begins to cry, opening up a mysterious locket that she had found earlier in the episode. This item reveals a memory that Alex is in fact Billy’s mom. I love you more than anything. I love you, Mom. It is also confirmed that Alex wiped everyone’s memory in order to protect Billy from Lord Morses, who was also revealed to be Billy’s evil paternal grandfather, Damian Penwolf. Amid the news, Justin’s son, Milo, is able to cast a spell that unties everyone. In a way, now we know the family competition will be between Milo and Roman, since Billie is Alex’s kid and therefore exempt since it’s between siblings. (Also I’m hoping Billie is part werewolf or something, because I do not want the shipping of Mason and Alex to be off-screened like Justin and Juliet. My heart broke for Alex
A few things. Alex is not dead. She is now trapped in the dimension of dark magic along with Billie's paternal grandfather, the evil Lord Morsus, whose name is actually Nicodemus Penwolf. Yes Alex is revealed as Billie's mother. Which means that Justin and Giada are her Aunt and Uncle, Roman and Milo are her cousins and Jerry and Theresa are her maternal grandparents.
Billie is bi-racial which means her father is either Black or Bi-racial himself. And no Mason is not the father. The Easter egg is in the flashback scene, it's quick. But Alex is wearing a wedding ring, which means she is/was married.
The rumor is that Season 3 might introduce Billie's father, whose name is Damian Penwolf and delve into Alex's past with him and how that relationship happened.

Alex is a tough gal, she’ll definitely come back. Still looks like the Russos have tough times ahead. At least now we know where Billie came from, the Pennwolfs must be a really powerful family, and since Alex was the family wizard and the most powerful of her generation, that explains why they’ve been saying Billie is a very powerful wizard.
