Victoria Beckham Shares How Spice Girls’ Mel B “Upset” Her | E! News

Victoria Beckham says fellow Spice Girls alum Mel B made a comment that upset her and now she’s clapping back. If you want to be an EasyV’s close circle, you got to act right. That is according to Victoria who tells the story from A to Z in her self-titled Netflix documentary out now. Recalling her 2008 Spice Girls reunion tour, the 51-year-old says in the dock per Vanity Fair that while it was good to be back with the group, the fashion designer mentions something that bandmate Mel B said to her that had her seeing red. She explains, “One of the girls actually said to me, and it did upset me not too long ago, actually. It was Melanie B who said to me, “Don’t forget where you’ve come from. I have never forgotten where I’ve come from. I have never ever forgotten that Posh Spice is the reason that I’m sitting here now.” She might have been grumpy, but she was actually great. Of the tour itself, Victoria says, “It was good to celebrate the Spice Girls, but it was during that tour that I realized I didn’t belong on stage. It had been fun, but it wasn’t what I loved anymore.” E-News has reached out to Melb for comment. Elsewhere in the dock, in which the mom of four, who is married to soccer icon David Beckham gets more candid than ever, Victoria reveals the pressure to stay thin over the years led her to develop an eating disorder. She says, “I was controlling my weight in an incredibly unhealthy way. When you have an eating disorder, you become very good at lying. And I was never honest about it with my parents. I never talked about it publicly.” It really affects you when you’re being told constantly you’re not good enough. [Music]

    1. I do admire her focus though . I do agree with the comments on her removing herself from group ( it didn’t fit her image any more ) but being cheated on so publicly and having to go through all that pain stay quiet . Girl code , woman to woman o do support her

    2. I love Mel B. I love her personality and how real she is. Victoria is and has always been out of touch, like to make such a tone deaf comment— not even 5 years after your husband had to tell you in FRONT of cameras to stop lying about your upbringing. Victoria just doesn’t get it…

    3. Idk….can you blame posh? She's well into her 50s – who wants to sing and dance to songs they made in their 20s? I wouldn't. Just leave the spice girls alone at this point.

    4. The way the media used this to pit these two women, friends and former colleagues, against each other and then mentions Victoria's eating disorder trauma to garner sympathy for one side. We see what you're doing. Pathetic

    5. people are allowed to grow, to evolve, to change. You don’t have to be stuck in something you did when you were 20. Mel sounds bitter.

    6. Victoria needs to give back.
The Spice Girls made her, if she's aware of that, then why is it so hard to once in a while give their fans a reunion of past songs, or show up to the other girls of the group's wedding day?

    7. Mel B is unrecognizable with all her cosmetics procedures. She is the one who wants to forget where she comes from and projects it on to Victoria. Nevertheless, we don’t know in which context this was said. I hope they are both happy in their lives.

    8. Vicky, your sister gave out good advice. Something in you completely walked away and changed you. You say in 0:49, that you felt you didn't belong on that stage during the tour of 2007-08, yet the interviews during that time revealed how you eagerly excited to be back with the hand and you with literally laughing and giggling so much like a teenager in love meeting her furst crush. It was the most anyone had ever seen you so happy. Plus it was it was you whom was eager to get Melanie C back on the saddle in 2007 because she said she wasn't gonna do the tour with you girls, but you all changed her minds. When Geri left you believed it was only about five girls and the unique bond you created together through your craft. You said that in 2007. For Viva Forever and the Olympics you looked like you didn't want to even be in the same room as them. Not to mention that the entire 2007-08 tour, every audience was full of Posh fans as I recall that definitely determined whether or not you belonged on that stage. So tell me something different

    9. She should've at least talked to Melanie C and Geri about her eating disorder since they both battled and conquered that as well. Sounds traumatized having to please with a certain image

    10. VIctoria's already got her plate's full, imagine being a mom to several kids, being a wife, a fashion icon and entrepreneur of an empire which employs hundreds of people depending on her for their livelihood. Mel's only got her self to manage and still got nearly bankrupt. Victoria is the most successful of them, I dont think she needs any lecturing about gratitude.

    11. I’m going to need everyone to CHILL OUT on Victoria. NO ONE can force you to do something you don’t want. Before anyone says otherwise, she DOES pay homage to Posh Spice through her collections, content, plays the music, humor, and even does a little karaoke here and there. She made it very clear that it’s not what she wants anymore. Are you going to force yourself to do something you don’t want to do? Didn’t think so.
