Pedophile rocker Ian Watkins killed in prison, ex-girlfriend speaks out

Pedophile rocker Ian Watkins died in a UK prison on October 11th after his throat was slashed by another inmate. His ex-girlfriend, who tirelessly advocated to put the monster behind bars, is now speaking out. Watch it pass the day as it fades away. No more care. With their 2003 chart topping hit Last Train Home, Lost Profits was on the fast track to fame, selling millions of albums worldwide. But the Welsh band saw a spectacular fall from grace in 2012 after police found a trove of child porn and even beastiality material in the home of their frontman Ian Watkins during an unrelated drug raid. Watkins was sentenced to 29 years in prison for the depraved sex crimes and on Saturday he was killed by a fellow prisoner. The 48-year-old was accosted with his shank and his jugular was cut leaving him to bleed out on the cell block floor. His ex, Joanne Melix, called the brutal death a relief, telling the Daily Mail, “I was always waiting for this phone call. He was walking around with a target on his back from the first day he entered the prison. I expected it to have happened earlier.” Mellix said she lived in constant fear of him getting out and tracking her down in revenge for her role in helping to expose his sex crimes. Melix repeatedly reported her boyfriend to South Wales police for years, but to no avail. on ITV. She alleged they turned a blind eye to the sick accusations because of Watkins fame and that a high-profile case would create a lot of press interest. It was literally like walking into a wall every time I knocked on so many police doors, but each time I was smacked in the face. In another disturbing twist, Melix herself was accused of child abuse images for collecting evidence against Watkins. In 2015, a jury cleared her of all charges. Watkins admitted to praying on female fans and even their young children with one text to a young mom saying, “If you belong to me, so does your baby.” Following his 2013 conviction, a judge blocked the singer’s ability to appeal because of the shocking deprivity of his crimes. Watkins killer has reportedly been apprehended along with a second person connected to the murder. But it wasn’t the first time he was attacked. In 2023, he was taken hostage by fellow inmates and beaten for over six hours over a $1,200 drug debt he supposedly owed. Mellix had these final words to say about the predator she brought to justice. The man I fell in love with never existed. He manipulated me. And that man who died today in prison was a stranger to me. I never loved him. He just put on a character.

Lostprophets frontman Ian Watkins, 48, was killed by another inmate while serving 29 years in a UK prison for child sex crimes. His ex, Joanne Mjadzelic, called the brutal death a “relief” and “expected it to have happened earlier.”
