Princess Kate, Prince William turn down major opportunity for Prince Louis?
Prince Louis has been passed over for a new opportunity after Princess Kate and Prince William reportedly turned down an offer for him to serve as an honorary patron of a British competition, to keep his focus elsewhere.
After learning of Prince Louis’s enthusiasm for conkers, the World Conker Championships extended an invitation for him to take on the honorary role.
However, the Prince and Princess of Wales politely turned down the offer, as their youngest son is still years away from becoming a working Royal and taking on Royal duties.
Speaking to Telegraph, a Kensington Palace spokesperson said, “We really appreciate the invite but currently Prince Louis is ‘conker-trating’ on his studies.”
The decision comes shortly after Kate Middleton shared that her youngest son has taken a keen interest in conkers.
The 43-year-old Royal lightheartedly confessed during a recent royal appearance, “We keep finding conkers in cupboards, in his bed, conkers everywhere!”
It was reported that The World Conker Championships received unexpected royal support this weekend, as King Charles provided hundreds of chestnuts to organisers struggling with a shortage.
Windsor Castle came to the rescue, sending over 300 conkers to organisers, just in time for the event.
