Meghan Markle has the world at her feet when it comes to her wardrobe. Whether it’s Ralph Lauren sets or a front row seat at Balenciaga, the choices are endless for the woman who recognises that even her choice of earrings can have a ‘powerful’ influence on the fashion world. Spoilt for choice, what’s a Duchess to do? Customise her clothes, of course.

The royal showcased her penchant for a personalised look in a behind-the-scenes video from her Washington, D.C. outing this week. Meghan was in the capital of the United States for Fortune’s Most Powerful Women summit, where she spoke of her ‘complicated relationship’ with social media and revealed her future plans for lifestyle brand As Ever and Netflix documentary With Love, Meghan.

But it was on Instagram that the Duchess of Sussex allowed fans to see what happened on the road, quite literally showing her followers what happened behind the curtain at the event. From hotel corridors to chats with a pilot in the cabin of an aeroplane, it was a glimpse into the jet set goings on of the mother-of-two; the epitome of the life of a female founder.

With the dulcet tones of Dolly Parton’s 9 to 5 playing in the background, Meghan certainly dressed for the occasion, in a cream leather skirt by Brochu Walker and a Gabriella Hearst blouse, which she paired with a custom pair of Dior heels that she had made specially for Prince Archie’s christening in 2019. But it was another personalised piece that had royal watchers on the lookout. In a blink-and-you’ll-miss-it moment, one clip of the Duchess in a lift showed off what appears to be a customised tote bag from Longchamp, monogrammed with ‘DS’ for the Duchess of Sussex.
