Taylor Swift’s latest album release has caused bad blood with her good friend, Ed Sheeran, according to the Daily Mail.
The British singer-songwriter, 34, “carefully plans his album releases,” a source told the outlet in a story published on Thursday, October 16, noting that Sheeran announced his most recent effort, Play, months before it dropped on September 12.
Then the “Opalite” singer, 35, scheduled The Life of a Showgirl for just two weeks after. “It left his team scrabbling to get as much attention before hers dropped,” added the source. “He was very much put out and understandably peeved.”
“It is not the first time that Taylor has done something like this. She’s got form,” continued the source, revealing that her latest move has “strained” their relationship.

“I have a perfect explanation,” the “Shake It Off” singer insisted during an appearance on the Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon on Friday, October 10. “He doesn’t have a phone!”
For that reason, Swift explained, when went through her recent texts to remind herself which friends to share her happy news with, the father of two “just wasn’t there.”
“This is one of my absolute favorite people on the planet,” Swift continued. “And then when the news came out, I was like, ‘Oh my god, we forgot to call Ed!’ He’s like family. I love him, but he doesn’t own a phone.”
