How To Survive A Dog Bite
If a dog attacks you, here’s what to do. First, stay calm and stand tall with your hands at your sides. If you scream or flail, you’ll only make it worse. Don’t run unless there’s a clear way out. Because running makes the dog chase. Instead, slowly put something solid between you and the dog, like your bag, or whatever you’re carrying. A jacket, an umbrella, even a bottle, can all work as a barrier. If the dog does attack, shove whatever you got into its mouth so it can’t bite you. And if you have to fight back, aim for the nose, throat, or top of the head. Your hands can work, but a stick or a bottle is better. If you’re knocked down, curl up and shield your neck and stomach. Stay still until help shows up.
