Mike Tindall, the former England rugby union star and husband of King Charles’s niece, Zara, once made a harsh one-word comment about Prince Harry.
It is believed to have occurred following Queen Elizabeth II’s platinum party at Buckingham Palace in June 2022. Prince Harry had returned to London for the landmark occasion, which took place three months prior to Her Majesty’s passing at the age of 96. However, he did not attend the concert at the Palace.
Tindall found himself seated behind Harry’s brother, Prince William, now the Prince of Wales. After the concert, Tindall allegedly described Prince Harry’s behaviour to another guest as that of a “b******.”
During the festivities, Harry and his wife, Meghan Markle, made only one official appearance with the rest of the family, at a service at St Paul’s Cathedral. While Zara was seen conversing with Meghan, her husband chose not to engage with Harry, instead preferring to sit quietly or chat with the Earl of Snowdon.
After the service, Zara was spotted next to her husband, who was positioned at the exit, ready to greet attendees as they departed. Footage showed them being approached by the Duke and Duchess, followed by a friendly chat between Zara and Meghan.
The Duke and Duchess once shared a close relationship with the Tindalls, but it is said to have cooled after the Sussexes began mingling with Hollywood’s elite. Jane Owen, celebrity PR expert and founder of Jane Owen PR, previously told The Mirror that “Hollywood loves Royalty,” saying that both Zara and Mike “can take advantage of that interest and attention.”

Meanwhile, Harry was reportedly “furious” at the prospect of Tindall being given a high-profile role at the Invictus Games, the Paralympics-style event founded by the Duke in 2014 for wounded military veterans.
Ultimately, Tindall didn’t take up the position, focusing on his commitment to other pursuits, which encompassed television work and his podcast, The Good, The Bad and The Rugby.
One of his ventures that has been creating a stir is the proposed breakaway R360 league. Tindall has been spearheading plans for a groundbreaking franchise competition, which had aspired to draw the sport’s most prominent stars.
The contentious proposal suffered a significant blow earlier this month when most of the leading rugby-playing nations united to caution that any players participating in R360 would be prohibited from competing in Test matches.

Following the International Rugby Players Association’s guidance to its members to obtain legal counsel before signing a R360 contract, it represented a substantial obstacle for the league, scheduled to debut in October next year.
Should it proceed, it must do so without the game’s premier talent, which would deal a considerable blow to Tindall’s ambitions. The Welsh Rugby Union, currently undergoing a revamp of its domestic game, has voiced support for the statement and maintains the right to exclude players from international duty if they participate in R360.
The proposed rebel league involves 12 franchised teams – eight men’s and four women’s – participating in a global grand prix-style competition with matches set to take place in cities including London, Miami, Tokyo and Lisbon.
