Boston Blue is a spin-off of the fan favorite procedural blueb bloodoods. In addition, Dany sees familiar faces, including his younger sister, Aaron Reagan, played by Bridget Moahan. McCarthy couldn’t be prouder of her husband’s fun next chapter, and shared a sweet Instagram post to show her support in May 2025 when the spin-off was announced. “Congrats to my husband, Donnie, for this amazing opportunity to bring more joy to so many people who watch you,” she wrote. Donnie Wahberg played Danny on Blueb Bloods for 14 years, and now he’s bringing his character to Massachusetts for Boston Blue. While Dany lost his Blueb Blood’s wife, Linda Reagan, played by Amy Carlson, to a helicopter crash in season 8. His real life marriage has been going strong for over a decade. Wahlberg and Jenny McCarthy met on Watch What Happens Live in 2012 and married on August 31st, 2014. Since then, they renewed their vows every year.
