According to Hola! , the sisters were the “most surprising of all” the guests after being spotted in Valladolid, near where the wedding took place. It’s unclear how Malia and Sasha know Stella, but the Obama women live in Los Angeles and probably run in the same circles with each other. Malia is working in the entertainment industry as a screenwriter and film director under the name “Malia Anne.” She dropped her last name for the first time when her short film, The Heart , debuted at the Sundance Film Festival in January.
