Cant find it in me to feel bad about this. These were probably stolen from somewhere too. And by somewhere I mean different colonies.
You go, robbers!

What is it about diamond heists that doesn’t garner much sympathy? Something quite exciting about them. A little bit oceans eleven?

I just don’t believe something like this can happen without it being an inside job.

It makes me sad to think these will probably broken down for the gems and metal. I have a lot of respect for jewelers but this kind of craftsmanship is hard to come by in the 21st century. Once these pieces are gone, they’re not coming back.

Museums that report theft LOL

A jewelry heist from a museum feels like such an old-timey crime and not something that happens in 2025. I’m surprised that the Louvre was successfully targeted, I just assumed they had almost impenetrable security.

The ladder on the side of the building is so crazy. They were in and outta there
Can’t wait for the inevitable heist movie about this.

How can stealing priceless items like this even work?
You can’t exactly put them on eBay and claim you’re selling because you’re “having a clearout”.
And even if you managed to find a buyer, they’re priceless, how do you know what kind of money offered isn’t a rip off?

Oh the pearl tiara is just so gorgeous and I’m a sucker for parures. So sad to think about the loss of such fine craftmanship

I recently read ‘The Art Thief’ by Michael Finkel and it shocked me how easy it was to steal from museums. That’s during the 90s to early ‘00s, so I’m surprised the Louvre of all places have had a theft under their noses.

The fact that they seemingly dropped one of the pieces on the way out is such a cinematic detail.
