Liam Payne’s girlfriend Kate Cassidy defends plans for first anniversary of his death

Good morning, you guys. I am getting ready to go on a trip. I’m obviously super transparent and open about my life on social media. Um, I have been for a while now. This week obviously hasn’t been the easiest week and it’s not going to be the easiest week and I have so many mixed emotions. I mean, grief comes in so many waves and I feel like no matter what I do, I get, you know, commentary. So, it’s like if I make this video, people are going to be like, “Of course she had to make this video.” But then also, if I didn’t make this video and just went on a trip, people would be like, “What is she doing? How is she not in bed crying?” For those who may not know, October 16th, which is in 2 days, is the day that my late partner passed away. For me, I’ve said this multiple times before in the past, I like to stay busy. It keeps my mind positive. It keeps my mind active. doing nothing for me and laying in bed and just sitting around the house does absolute just not good things for my head space. Um it reminds me of a really dark place I was in last year and I finally am starting to see the light again in life. I got offered to go on this trip um with a brand and it’s for two nights. Um it’s a very wholesome trip. If it was some partying type of trip, I would not be wanting to go. We have like Pilates. There’s like brunches, poolside, stuff like that. My friend Caitlyn was invited to go on this trip. And for those who may not know Caitlyn, she is one of my best friends now. I actually became friends with her because she also lost her partner 3 years ago and we connected and she is literally one of my best friends. The trip also, keep in mind, is in Miami, which is another reason why I agreed to going because I feel like I wouldn’t really want to be traveling on a plane right now or anything. Um, I felt like it was almost meant to be that this trip happened to be a 20-minute drive from my apartment. So, originally when this brand reached out to me to go on this trip, I was like, “No, no, these dates are not going to work for me.” And then after a lot of consideration, I was like, I know Liam would want me to go. I’m not going to be doing anything on the 16th. I’ll be here in my apartment. I know for a fact I wouldn’t be able to commit to any plans on the 16th. So, I’m going to go pack now. I’m going to try my hardest to enjoy this trip. All right. Bye, guys.

Kate Cassidy revealed to her TikTok followers that she had accepted an invitation to go on a “wholesome trip” with a brand for two nights. Cassidy had been dating One Direction singer Liam Payne for two years before he died on October 16, 2024.
