Prince Andrew faces more backlash amid Virginia Giuffre’s memoir release
hitting the shelves and heaping more scrutiny on Britain’s Prince Andrew. This postumous memoir by Virginia Duay, who accused Andrew of sexually abusing her as a teenager, went on sale in London on Tuesday. It adds to renewed focus on King Charles’s brother just days after the disgraced prince gave up his Duke of York title. The 65-year-old’s conduct and connections with the late US sex offender Jeffrey Epstein have long been criticized. He quit all royal duties in 2019 and was stripped of his military links and royal patronages in 2022 during legal action by Juay in the United States. That year he settled a lawsuit brought by Juay who died by suicide in April. In the book, Chu Fray wrote she feared she might die a sex slave under Epstein’s control and describes three alleged sexual encounters with Andrew in London, New York, and on the late Finance Private Island. On Friday, Andrew vigorously denied the accusations and said he would voluntarily give up his titles. Londoners were unimpressed by the new development in the longunning saga. Yeah, I think I think this just I think it’s a PR PR disaster. I mean, obviously, I haven’t read the book, so I can’t comment on what uh what’s been said, but yeah, I think it’s been quite quite handled extremely extremely badly. Really, anything to do with Epstein and and uh what Andrew did obviously uh will reflect badly on the royal family, which I’m really upset about cuz I am a royalist. The Scottish National Party has called for further action, demanding the government introduce a law to formally strip Andrew of his titles. The government has said it believes the prince took the right course of action in giving up his titles.
Prince Andrew is facing even more backlash after Virginia Giuffre accused him of sexually assaulting her as a teenager in her memoir. The allegation comes soon after the scrutiny due to his association with Jeffrey Epstein.
