Inside Ireland Baldwin’s ‘poisonous’ family — where she stands with Alec, Hilaria, and Kim Basinger

Ireland Baldwin was just 11 when this not so nice message from her dad, Alec Baldwin, leaked amid her parents’ messy yearslong custody battle. Now, ahead of her 30th birthday on October 23rd, the former model is speaking out about her famous family members, calling them everything from poisonous to narcissistic without naming any specific names. Her family tree is a big one and includes Uncle Billy Baldwin, his wife China, who was in Wilson Phillips, Uncle Steven Baldwin, cousin Haley Bieber, and stepmom Hillaria Baldwin. Page six has all the new details, but first we have to give Ireland a quick shout out. Her first professional modeling gig was a swimsuit spread in the New York Post. The year was 2013, and the 17-year-old was a dead ringer for her mom, Oscar winner and Bond girl Kim Basinger. With two famous parents, Ireland grew up with big shoes to fill. And she’s opening up to her Substack subscribers about what she calls a lonely childhood. In a revealing blog titled 30, flirty and surviving, Ireland said she no longer carries the weight of her narcissistic, unreliable addict family members. The 29-year-old wrote that she grew up without two parents in my home and no siblings to turn to and said she previously felt the need to win over certain people in her family. Their validation and praise was meaningful to me. Nothing was more freeing than finally realizing how poisonous these people are. Ireland added that her two-year-old daughter Holland doesn’t have to know these people and she can protect the toddler from them without specifying which relatives she was referring to. Ireland now lives in Oregon with her partner, musician RAC, and their child and their six dogs. They’re giving Alec and Hilaria’s seven Baldwinitos a run for their money. In March, Alec opened up on his TLC reality show, The Baldwins, about his rocky relationship with Ireland. He now says things are good between them. My relationship with my daughter, Ireland, was so negatively impacted by my divorce from her mother, and it took a long time to restore that. In February, Kim Basinger also told Variety that she has a great relationship with her ex-husband despite their messy split two decades ago. On Substack, Ireland gave a nod to her mom with this life lesson. Tell your mom you love her every single day. Text her when you get to where you’re going. You will soon understand her in ways you never had. Then in September, Ireland gushed over her dad’s second wife, Haria, in an Instagram post following her Dancing with the Stars casting. She is eccentric and totally bat crazy in a fun way, but she saved my dad’s life. She turned his health around and has shown him the forgiveness and kindness that he needed. She also recognizes and nourishes the parts of my father that are the most compassionate and wonderful. This woman is a gem and deserves all the love.
