Meghan Markle is hoping to be on better terms with her sister-in-law Princess Kate before the new year, according to a source.
A source tells Star that the Duchess of Sussex, 44, is planning on visiting the UK soon, noting, “it’s just a matter of finalizing the timing, but it will most likely be before Christmas.”
The source claims that Meghan is “nervous” about her trip and believes that mending fences with the Princess of Wales, 43, would help.
“She’s desperate to get ahead of the narrative, and she knows getting Kate on board would massively help,” the source explains.

“If the public sees she’s making a genuine effort to heal old wounds, and they see Kate accepting her back, it’s bound to soften their feelings towards her,” the source continues.
The source also notes that while the Suits alum is “telling people she’s ready to forgive, forget, and move forward,” she’s still “weary of Kate” and “not sure if she can trust her.”
As for how Prince Harry feels about the potential reunion, the source claims “he’s been encouraging her to go for it because he’s convinced that if Meghan and Kate can clear the air, it’ll smooth things over with [Prince] William too.”
As Star previously reported, the Duke of Sussex, 41, ended his 19-month estrangement with his father, King Charles III, in September but has yet to reunite with the Prince of Wales, 43.
