Bryant Gumbel has reportedly been hospitalized after suffering a medical emergency.

    The former “Today” show host, 77, was transported Monday night from his apartment building in Manhattan, TMZ reported.

    Gumbel was taken on a gurney and has remained in the hospital since Monday, sources told the outlet.

    His condition and what he is being treated for is unclear.

    But a family member told TMZ that the broadcasting legend is “OK.”

    A rep for Gumbel didn’t immediately respond to Page Six’s request for comment.

    The sports journalist battled lung cancer in 2009, after being a heavy smoker then quitting.

    “It’s nothing to hide from,” Gumbel said during his appearance on “Live! With Regis and Kelly” in December 2009. “They opened up my chest, they took a malignant tumor and they took part of my lung and they took some other goodies.”

    “And the pathology on most of the stuff had been benign, but enough aggressive cells had escaped the tumor that it warranted some treatment and I went through that and it’s done now,” he continued.

    The four-time Emmy winner’s older brother, sports broadcaster Greg Gumbel, died after a battle with pancreatic cancer in December 2024. He was 78 years old.
