RHONY’s Erin Lichy addresses Martha Stewart casting rumors, new book on Virtual Reali-Tea’s Tea Time
We were like a new show and it takes a couple seasons for it to gel. You know, I was just like, “Okay.” And taking it and taking it and I should have just been like, “Shut the I wasn’t the underdog until she was mean to everybody.” Right. The first sip of tea. First sip of tea. Hi, I’m Danny Murphy. I’m Evan Real. And welcome back to Tea Time where we invite some of our favorite reality stars for a cup of tea. Right, Evan? Yes. Welcome to the show, Aaron Elichi, the host of She’s a Host. She’s a host. You’re a host. Now we’re hosting you for tea time. Danny, tell her how tea time works. So, you already know that we’re not good at cooking. Okay. But that’s why we’re we’re very excited that she’s a hostess out now to help us learn to cook. So, we have fake pastries here. Okay. But every fake pastry has a real question. Connected to it. No way. You’re kind of interviewing yourself. So, you’re going to pick a pastry and then we’re going to read you the question that correlates to it and you can either answer the question or take a second. Okay. All right. This one is speaking to me. Oh, the raspberry. Oh, the raspberry tart. Is there a major misconception you would want to clear up from the past season or reunion of Real House of New York? The whole thing with Jenna and the flying. Do we know when Jenna is getting here? No. No, I have no idea. But I would like to know cuz I don’t want her to hear me say anything. But it was like, the truth is I’m not flying down with you guys because I don’t fly coach. Ew. Okay. Seemed like I was talking, but really I I I didn’t realize how it would come off. But it w it didn’t seem like it was a secret to me and I was just trying to move things along a little bit and she did say it. I also feel I’m like Jenna should know that’s just a just flex on us, right? You know it like it it shouldn’t have it. It turned into something like so bad that I did, but it really wasn’t. Not that I really held back much, but I will never hold back again at all. And I and I also it’s the same thing with like the Jenna thing like I should have just stood in it and just had you know and I think that’s a confidence that just happens over time. Okay. Well, I feel also it’s kind of funny going back to she’s a host. You’re so used to having everybody feel happy and welcome in your home that you’re like even if someone’s acting a certain way that you don’t like, you’re like I can’t bring it up. But you’re like no this is I’m hosting on now. I’m going to let them know. When they were all complaining at my house, you know, I was just like okay and taking it and taking it. No signal. Do you have Wi-Fi now? Yeah. I literally cannot even connect to any thing here. Tough crowd. You complain as soon as you wake up. Your energy is so off. I should have just been like, “Shut the in my house.” Yeah. You know, you’re like, “Invite me to your vacation home.” Right. Right. In your handbook. Yeah. I know. I know. I’ve learned my lesson. Okay. Which pays for next? All right. I’m going to go for a macaroon. Okay. The little pink macaroon. All right. We’ve seen you hanging out with Jenna Sai and Jessel. Where do things currently stand with Uba? Uba is great. We’re very close with Uba. We all love her so much. She’s in her little love bubble in CT and we still talk. Okay, good. That makes me so happy to hear because I know y’all have had your ups and downs and I’m glad to know it’s just ups and ups and ups and ups and ups. We’re so happy for her. Really, everybody is. They are such a hot couple. It’s insane. I mean, he’s also like the nicest best person. Like, they’re really like is he even real? Like he’s rich. He’s handsome. He’s nice. She has a big old house in Connecticut. They have the cutest dog ever. Like perfect life. But you know what? She grounds him so much. Like she’s just like such a good happy energy. She’s like a puppy. Yeah. You know, and I think that he needed that. Like he needed the looseness, the like happy bubbly that she really brings that energy into every space. I love that. That’s good energy. Where are we off to now? Let’s hope this next question is good energy. So we’ll see where you pick. It’s not. Oh, it’s like even spongy. So, a lot of fans have trolled the Rooney reboot. They get it gets a lot of heat and a lot of talking online. Do you feel there’s another Housewives franchise that deserves equal amount of shade or heat? And how do you feel about the overall energy some fans give the Rooney reboot? I think that it takes a while with any show. We were like a new show and it takes a couple seasons for it to gel. I really believe that. So, I feel like we got unfair heat. Um, do I think if it didn’t end the way that it would have ended, like would would we move right into a third and it like actually be good? I really do believe that. So, I just feel like unfair treatment. Yeah. And then I also, if you kind of like look back at the the house franchises that were added later, like even Dallas, which is, you know, RIP, but also PTOIC, those first few seasons were they were like a little tough to get through and then once they hit their stride, they really hit their stride. Like PTOIC is one of the most amazing house-wise franchises ever, but that that first season was not the most entertaining. You feeling kind of about Salt Lake? Kind of a little bit. And now it’s like the best house franchise of all. Like it’s it’s so amazing. Yeah. Everyone used to be like, “Who’s Lisa? Who’s Meredith?” And then like now they’re both eye, you know what I mean? Like it it takes some time. Takes a second. And like people have to get invested with each character, I think, and like connect with them. And it just like takes it some time, which makes sense. Practice patience. Yeah. Practice patience. And did you was there a hope like were you guys planning to have like a much more different finale last season? I mean, who could have expected that? I know. Like, was there like plans like cuz usually it’s always like a fun party or something like it? I was like, “Oh, it was not fun.” No, no. It ended in like all of us being dispersed and like leaving early and getting on planes and being like, well, it was so wild because I remember the during the press cycle of that, everyone was saying, “Oh, it takes a really dark turn. It’s going to get so dark.” And I’m like, “How the hell is Ron going to get this dark?” And then I was like, “Oh my god.” Got really the lights turned off. Literally. Are you being sad? I’m grateful she told me this. This is lying. You son of a You sons of Literally. It’s insane. And I mean, you know, I know unfortunately cuz we we love a lot of our running girls. I know you and Rebecca don’t talk anymore. Me and Evan always love the prank. We thought it was fun. Yeah. I thought it was the the pregnancy prank. It wasn’t that big of a deal. It’s so not big deal. You guys ever do you ever see I’m just going to That’s big as do you ever see a world where you and Rebecca could like mend fences or so funny. I was with one of her girlfriends the other day. And she was like, “Can you like talk to her and can you guys like make I I’ll reach out. I mean, we did talk, okay, but I I don’t think she understood that like at the time going through losing my dad and like dealing with grief. Like, I was not in a place to talk about this one clip and the like Scientology like statement that I I didn’t care. And it was a constant calling me, why’d you say this? Why did you say this? Why did you say this? And I’m like, I’m going through something actually real. Like, this is not important. So, it just really rubbed me the wrong way. And I mean, we talked about it and we’re kind of fine, but like yes, I would I would like to make up with her in a more real way. Where are you in your grief journey with your dad and everything? We obviously know how special he was to you. It’s very challenging. Yeah. Yeah. And we It’s like going through it. It’s also cuz we both have lost our dads, too. It’s one of those things where it’s like dad’s club. Yeah. New for tea time. Yeah. But it’s one of those things where it’s not linear. No. So, you could have like two really good months and then it’s just like a Tuesday at 3 p.m. and you’re like, “Why the hell like what’s happening? Where are you?” Yeah. So, it’s hard. I’m going through it. Yeah. Yeah. Thank you. I’m sorry to Yeah. It’s It’s been a while for me. I was I was 5 years old, so it’s not It’s nothing like compared to what y’all have been through. Anyway, that’s hard in its own way. Yeah, I guess so. Yeah. All right. Also, hard are these fake pastries that you cannot bite into. Let’s squish. Okay. That one’s kind of squishy. Okay. How How much of a relief is it to know you don’t have to film another season with Bren? God. Okay. The first sip of tea. The first sip of tea. I love Bose. She’s like my favorite person.” Oh, have you met her? Yeah, we we did like an event together in this in this cruise ship that was docked. We actually had so much fun. I love that. Um, she’s a fun time. And I don’t know. I mean, I like I like most of everybody. Everyone’s great. Honestly, everyone’s great. And that’s kind of thing Bravo Connor is just like it feels almost like it’s like a college mixer party. Totally. Like it really is like there should be a catch. I literally said to Tam cuz I was just on her podcast. I was like, “Can you please have that party again?” Cuz I didn’t go last year. They were like, “Come to our party.” I’m like, “HS should have gone. You showed up.” Well, also the Orange County drama this season. This year. Oh, I heard she was saying that. I don’t know anything. So, do you watch any of the Housewives show? I don’t have time right now. Yeah. So, you’re like always behind. Orange County is on and popping. I kind of like the drama is crazy for Bravo. I need to like know what’s going just especially cuz I feel like if you’re going to be on panels with people, you’re like, “What do I mean?” Yeah, that’s bad. I That’s actually kind of a peaceful place to be in to like not know what’s going on and then you don’t have preconceptions about people or you just Exactly. The fight’s the perfect place to do it. Like I’m not watching. I know. But we heard the one reality show you love is Secret Lives of Mormon Wives. I love it. You’re tapped in and tuned in. It’s so good. Do you have a favorite Mormon wife? I like Taylor. She’s cool, right? You know what? Like I get I feel like I get her. I like her. I I’m not that into Whitney. Oh, how do you watch Dancing with the Stars? No. But she’s amazing. I saw a clip. She’s Holy Crazy. She’s the best one. It’s insane. She’s the best. She’s going to win. Jake, you’re that one. Watch yourself. Oh, that dance was wild. I was like, she’s like a She’s a professional dancer. You’re going to be on the stars with me. We’re going to manifest what we need to do. Cuz you were saying your dad loved that show. Oh my god, that’s so I was a chill guy who like loves dancing. I mean, parents love dancing when you start and my mom’s obsessed. Now I’m obsessed. Wait, and speaking of Whitney, she did something that I feel as a native New Yorker will make your doll drop. She bought her first Louis Vuitton bag and then she was so excited she wanted to film a Tik Tok in Time Square. So just threw her bag on the ground to film a Tik Tok. Why? The everyone was like every disgusting didn’t she came in to do press and I said I I threw out the questions. They’re like, “What do you do?” You don’t put your bag on the on the street ever. Like ever. Let alone Time Square. A Louis a brand new. Yeah. She just she just tossed and started dancing in the middle of Time Square. But why can’t you put it down gently somewhere else? Or just like dance with it on your shoulder. Oh my god. I don’t know. Cuz I was like, I know if you put on the ground, you lose money. I don’t know what the ground time square does. Yeah. Wow. I could talk about that show for hours. Guys are awesome. I don’t know. Maybe she has redeeming qualities in the next season of the match. I like her. I like her. But I sometimes I’m the I’m the person who will root for the underdog. Okay. So she wasn’t the underdog until she was mean to everybody. Right. That’s true. Is that how you feel? No. That No, that’s okay. We’ll talk after this about so many people he loves and I’m like, Evan, just you wait. She was mean. Just you wait. She was a little mean. She’s a great dancer on Dancing with the Stars and she’s fun on Tik Tok. Crush. I don’t so bad on Tik Tok. She’s Her Tik Tok energy is good. It’s chaotic. Yeah. Okay. Well, we have to All right. Um, let’s go with another turf. I feel like every day there’s new Ron rumors every day. What can you tease about the rumors of Martha Stewart’s makeup artist Daisy in talks for Ron? Oh. Oh, I kind of like that she’s slipping tea cuz it means that maybe something is brewing. You know what I mean? Now, I do love that rumor I feel almost started cuz everyone thought Martha Stewart was going to join. Would you want Martha Stewart to join Rome? Totally. That would be amazing. Are you kidding me? Totally. When were you aware of that rumor when it came out when the reports came out that Martha Stewart was in talks? Okay. And what was going through your head when you saw that maybe Martha Stewart Amazing. I I know she’s going to say it like it is. I think I saw I was with her the other night with like a bunch of the girls and she said something to me like I don’t know like something catty kind and I was like love her. Damn it. You’d be perfect. She would also probably be very proud if she’s a host. I mean she is the ultimate host. She would really appreciate this book. I think she would be. And also like to get a catty comment by Martha Stewart. I would almost be like, “Thank you.” It almost Who was it directed at? Was it someone you knew? Oh, she like was being spicy with me. With you? Oh, wait. Do you remember what she said? Honestly, I don’t. Oh my god. Cuz you probably like blacked out. You were like, “Oh my god, she did choose me. This is amazing.” We were like having fun. I was like, “Okay, that is so amazing.” That’s incredible. We have a few We have a few pastries left. All right. Uh, should I go donut? Ooh. Who from your orbit would you love to be on the next season of Rooney? Is there a friend or someone who you know who you think would be a great apple holder? Um, I was saying this before. I think my friend Amy Green would be a really good apple holder. Okay. And and why Amy? What is it about her? Because she just like lives a really fabulous life. She lives in the Hampton. She lives in Aspen. She flies private. She has parties in a visa. Like she’s just that person. Yeah. And so I think she’d be good. And something tells me if she was on it, Jenna’s like, “Actually, I’ll fly private.” Jenna would be like, “I’m going with you.” Yeah. I saw I’m I am like not fully caught up on Miami, but I saw that one episode where she was like, “I’m going to pick you two to go on the plane.” I It’s a very But I was like, I would I get it. I don’t want anything, too. Totally. When I asked Larsa about it, Laura’s like, she’s rich. Yeah. Let her do it. Yeah. Okay, we are in her. We have time for one more question. Um, let’s go with this one. Oh, perfect. Okay, so who from the Ron cast would be the most entertaining sue chef to make a meal from She’s a Host with for you. Uber. Oh, yeah. She’s going to throw some hot sauce on there. Uber. She would just be funny and like chaotic and great. Just really great. And also, she knows how to cook, so she’d be a good one. That’s actually true. She would help. Yeah, she would help. She would help. Is there anything with lots of bananas in the book that she would love? Cuz remember she loves banana. Oh, okay. There we go. She loves pan. She does love bananas. Yeah, remember that was like her thing for the first season. Rubes them on her face. I know. She knows. I was like if I tried that I would break out. Like there’s a lot of uba whenever I like oh do this like it could have worked for me. You know we used to call them ubaisms. Oh yeah. She’s on the face. That’s an uberism for the face. Oh sorry. And now how about how she How about how she’s pay but never gives them. Did she make them for people? But then she’s like, I can’t part with it. Oh my god. So she’s like she has she has all commissioned pieces and she’s like, “No, it’s too good. You’re not getting it.” Sorry. Has she ever painted something for you? Yeah, we painted something together. And she did give it to me. Okay. All right. So you’re special. I love that. I do love that. Wait, and before we let you go, I am kind of curious. Is there a recipe here? Because it is fall. It’s kind of like coupled up cozy boot up moment. What’s the best date night recipe? Oh, that’s a great one. Um, probably this meatball recipe that I have cuz you can make it with a lot of sides. It’s a zatar meatball. Have you had zatar? I’m sure. It’s so delicious. So, they’re really juicy and you can make it with like any sort of side and it’s just like a warm, cozy, delicious meatball.
