Another day, another blow for the legacy of Prince Andrew. His coat of arms banner removed from Windsor Castle. According to multiple outlets, while Andrew’s flag was on display alongside Prince Williams as recently as last week, the coat of arms featuring the Three Lions of England, the harp of Ireland, and Scotland’s line rampant, now absent from St. George’s Chapel. This coming amid increased scrutiny surrounding the prince and his past relationship with convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, who died by suicide in 2019. Around the time Andrew first stepped back from his royal duties. Plus, there’s Andrew’s outofc court settlement with Epstein accuser Virginia following a sexual assault lawsuit and tragically ending with Virginia also dying by suicide earlier this year. Just in the past month, Andrew announced he’s dropping his Duke of York title, a move co-signed by his father, King Charles. The firm sharing Andrew’s statement October 17th with the prince saying in part, “I have decided, as I always have, to put my duty to my family and country first.” Meanwhile, Buckingham Palace is yet to address this latest update. But royal experts now pointing out the removal of a coat of arms, a rare display, and historically reserved in cases of high treason.
