The lack of critical analysis of words shouldn’t startle me anymore, yet here we are.
As someone for whom MGMT was a profound influence since 2008, this sucks and good on them for fighting it.

I went to college with the members of MGMT at Wesleyan, a most progressively liberal of liberal arts colleges. There was no way – NOOOOO WAYYYYY – this was going to go well for ICE lol. Definitely happy they are standing against this

The accompanying video is one of the most dystopian videos I have ever seen. Even without the knowledge of the song being *co-opted by neo-Nazis*, it’s slowed down to an ominous, horrible degree. The editing is trippy and backwards – it genuinely makes you feel a bit nauseous at the end. On top of the glorifying of police brutality, deportation and aggression.
