Miss USA 2024 Alma Cooper Skips 2025 Pageant With Cryptic Message | E! News

Current MissUSA Alma Cooper announces she’s skipping the pageant just hours before she was expected to crown the new winner. Ahead of the big event, Alma says on Instagram, “After much consideration, “I’ve made the extremely difficult decision not to attend this year’s MissUSA pageant and crowning ceremony.” She adds, “As I close this chapter, I do so with the knowledge that I finished what I started with integrity and my self-worth held high, just like the crown I was honored to wear.” Alma’s decision came just hours before MissUSA’s final round taking place in Reno, Nevada on Friday, October 24th. The 23-year-old was expected to crown her successor at the event. In an extended version of her statement shared with People magazine, the West Point graduate continues, “For the past year, I have done my absolute best to honor the prestigious title while also serving as first lieutenant Cooper in the US Army. Despite the mental, physical, and emotional load I was set to carry, like any other full-time job, I was confident that I could push myself to deliver the excellence, wit, poise, and intelligence that the title required. I was ready and willing to wear the crown with pride. I worked up until the very last second to give my all because I believe that one’s character is not only built by challenges, but revealed. Ahead of the pageant preliminaries on Wednesday, October 22nd, MissUSA CEO and president Tom Broer addressed Cooper’s participation in the 2025 pageant on his Instagram stories, saying at the time, “Our office has been in touch with Alma and her representatives since the day we announced taking over MissUSA as the new leadership team. Our dream was to warmly welcome Alma to participate in the 2025 competition in whatever capacity she was most comfortable.” Broer then stated that the organization had not yet received confirmation of her attendance, adding, “But our invitation still stands, and we hope to provide her the dignified end to her reign that she deserves.” E-News has reached out to the MissUSA pageant for comment and has not yet heard back. 1. More controversy. I am not impressed with the new team at all. The prices they charged to watch the preliminaries and the final competition was insane.

    2. Honestly, I can't blame her. I think I'd just want to be finished with the entire situation if I were her. After her year, I think it'd be difficult to attend with a happy face and enthusiasm she's probably not feeling…..

    3. So, after a whole year, she can't bring herself to just give over the crown?? No reasons other than an absolutely innane comment. A spoiled , privileged, entitled whining loser!! Absolutely that! No excuse. Are all her generation absolutely idiots???
