Meghan Markle may have left her acting career behind, but she had some notable moments on both the big and small screen, including a brief role opposite Ashton Kutcher.
Best known for her portrayal of Rachel Zane in the Netflix legal drama Suits, Meghan once starred alongside noughties heartthrob Ashton in the romantic comedy A Lot Like Love.
The film, released in 2005 before Meghan met and married Prince Harry, gave her a minor role with a few lines and was one of her early breakthrough roles before landing her part in the Netflix hit series. The movie featured Ashton Kutcher and Amanda Peet as two individuals who kept falling for each other at the wrong time.
Despite its success, earning $42.8M at the box office, Meghan’s appearance was fleeting. In a ‘blink and you’ll miss it’ moment, Meghan was cast as a ‘hot girl’ in a scene that lasts less than a minute.
In her brief appearance, Meghan’s character, Natalie from Los Angeles, sits next to Ashton on an airplane and flirts with his business partner after he reveals he’s about to become very wealthy. Despite being given a name in the film, she is simply credited as ‘Hot Girl.’
In 2017, after her stint on Suits, Meghan traded her acting career for Royal duties.
Reflecting on this transition, she stated, “I had been working on my show for seven years. So we were very, very fortunate to be able to have that sort of longevity on a series.
“For me, once we hit the 100 episode marker, I thought, you know what, I have ticked this box, and I feel very proud of the work I had done there and now it’s time to work as team with [Harry].”
While she has since retired from acting, Meghan made her return to television with her Netflix lifestyle series With Love, Meghan, which debuted in March 2025.
