Demi Moore calls out ‘awkward’ Tom Cruise, reveals shocking pregnancy story

Thank you for playing. Should we or should we not follow the advice of the galactically stupid? I’m sorry I lost your set of steak knives. Tom Cruz and Tami Moore chewed the scenery in the 1992 box office hit A Few Good Men. Three decades later, she’s now sharing a galactically awkward exchange with her co-star and shedding light on how gender expectations have changed in Hollywood. At a New Yorker festival Q&A, Dei revealed she was eight months pregnant when she first ran lines with Tom and the director Rob Reiner before filming began. She claimed, “I think Tom was quite embarrassed. I actually felt okay about it. I was moving around though, right? But I could tell he felt that it was a bit awkward.” According to People Mag, Dei amused on stage that Tom was uncomfortable with her being heavily pregnant. At the time, a few working actresses were having children. The Oscar nominated star of The Substance added that her choice to try to juggle work and life came with a lot of pressure that she put on herself, especially when it came to being in shape for the military legal drama. In A Few Good Men, Dei played a lawyer in the Navy’s internal affairs department. She started working out even before giving birth to her daughter, Scout, who is now 34. Dei confessed, “I did a 2 and 1/2 hour hike the day my water broke. I did a 24-mile bike ride and then I was dancing at a reggae club. Hence why she came 2 and 1/2 weeks early. Around that time, Dei famously posed nude while 7 months pregnant with Scout for the August 1991 cover of Vanity Fair, shot by Annie Liboitz. Dei went on to have three daughters with her ex-husband Bruce Willis, Scout, Rumor, and Tula. Over the decades, the mom of three found that work life balance while also flaunting her jaw-dropping figure on the silver screen for her role in 1996’s strip tease. Dei was paid $12.5 million, a then unprecedented salary that made her the highest paid film actress at the time. Then in 2003’s Charlie’s Angels Full Throttle, she showed off her killer bikini body. Last year, Dei ditched to her former co-star Drew Barrymore about the challenges of filming that iconic scene. I will never forget the phenomenon of that. It was I was I all I remember is begging him not to shoot my butt. I don’t know why that was my obsession. Dei was 40 years old when she shot the scene and received a lot of attention for her fit physique. She said she wasn’t prepared for the focus that swirled around her body that was specifically tied to her age. Now, ahead of her 63rd birthday on November 11th, Dei is continuing to shine light on the struggles that women in Hollywood might face from pregnancy to beauty standards to agism. Ever since her breakout role in 1985’s St. Elmo’s fire. Demi Moore has proven that at any age her career is still on fire.

Demi Moore said her “A Few Good Men” co-star Tom Cruise was “embarrassed” about her being heavily pregnant while working on the 1992 legal drama.

During a Q&A at the New Yorker Festival on Saturday, the actress shared she was almost eight months pregnant with her now 34-year-old daughter, Scout, when she first ran lines with Cruise and director Rob Reiner before filming.

“I think Tom was quite embarrassed,” Moore said, per People. “I actually felt OK about it. I was moving around, though, right? But I could tell he felt that it was a bit awkward.”
