The fact that you could be literal queen Ming-Na Wen and your mom still decides that’s not good enough đŸ˜”â€đŸ’« wild stuff man…

I have a few choice words for her ‘mother’ and any other parent who shows no support for the achievements of their children.

Ming-Na Wen is glorious and I for one will always show her that.

This is terrible. Goes to show – it doesn’t matter what a child achieves, a crappy parent will always be crappy

    4. I, too, have an asian mother. It can be rough. It really fucking sucks shes dealing with it

    5. It’s kinda bonkers that you can be one of the most successful Asian/Asian-American stars of all time, star in two of the most iconic films of all time, be an official Disney legend, still in high demand at 61 all while never having fucking aged a day and still have a parent like that. Can’t even fathom.

Imagine voicing the woman who defeated the Huns and saved China and your mom still doesn’t approve. I relate though, well not to that degree, but I remember I got Salutatorian in high school, in a class of about 300, and the first thing my dad asked is why I didn’t get Valedictorian.

    7. I feel for her as an Asian. My parents were never that bad, but for a lot of Asian kids no matter what we do, it’s never enough for their parents unless we pursue prestigious careers. And they’ll continue to traumatize their kids and for what? You came to North America for a better life for you kids! She’s got money, fame, talent!

It’s so hard when your achievements are never enough. I feel for her and also I’m thankful I had older sisters who supported me when I needed it.
