Andrew’s relationship with Prince William is reportedly strained due to the scandals surrounding the former Duke of York and his association with convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. However, the Prince of Wales may also be at loggerheads with Andrew, who is being stripped of his titles by King Charles, following a reported “rude” remark.
Andrew, 65, is claimed to have once made “rude” remarks about William’s wife, Princess Kate, that sent the heir to the throne “over the edge”. This claim was made in the royal book ‘Entitled: The Rise and Fall of the Yorks’ by Andrew Lownie, who researched the disgraced royal for a number of years. In the book, Lownie claimed a source told him that Andrew and William had not been on good terms for some time.
As reported by The Mirror, the source claimed that tensions between uncle and nephew began when Andrew first started tarnishing the reputation of the monarchy. The former Duke has denied any wrongdoing and rejected allegations made against him by the late Virginia Giuffre.
The relationship between the two men is then believed to have worsened when Andrew, formally The Duke of York, said something disrespectful about Princess Kate.
