“67” Is Dictionary.com’s Word of the Year—Yes, Really | E! News

The slang term consistently used by kids of all ages and has annoyed teachers and parents alike to no end this year has been chosen as dictionary.com’s word of the year despite being literal numeral numbers. According to a press release by the outlet, searches for 67 experienced a dramatic rise beginning in the summer of 25. And so far, the surge shows no signs of stopping. 67. The term hasn’t just taken over classrooms and soccer fields and basic everyday situations, but also pop culture, as seen here in an October episode of South Park. You want to know what time I woke up this morning? What time? Around 67. 67. And if you’re still confused as to what 67 even means, you aren’t alone. The trend derives from the song Doot Doot 67 by rapper Skrrilla. In the song, he repeats the numbers as lyrics. Well, the song went viral on Tik Tok in part due to an edit featuring NBA player Lamela Ball, who is 6′ 7 in tall.
