Is Gail King really leaving CBS Mornings? Here’s the truth to the reports. On Thursday, October 30th, multiple outlets reported Gail would be departing from the Morning News show when her contract is set to expire in May 2026. CBS, however, shut down any speculation with a CBS News spokesperson telling People magazine in a statement, “There have been no discussions with Gail about her contract that runs through May 2026.” The spokesperson adds, “She’s a truly valued part of CBS and we look forward to engaging with her about the future.” The day before, CBS News parent company Paramount Global announced an overhaul of the news organization, including the cancellation of a streaming program associated with CBS Mornings. According to multiple outlets, though the initial reports of Gail’s exit from the morning news show noted she may stay on board with CBS News in a different capacity, it seems she is keeping her anchor chair for now. Oprah Winfreyy’s best friend joined CBS This Morning, now known as CBS Mornings, in 2012. During her run of over a decade, she’s co-anchored the AM News show with a variety of anchors. With Stephen Colbert and Gayle King leaving I can't find a reason to watch CBS anymore except for Thursday night with George and Mandy, and Elsbeth. CBS used to be my channel every night except for the reality shows.

Oprah hire! Gayle King was hired because she is the best friend of Oprah, plain and simple. She should have never been hired and lasted a lot longer than she should have. I wonder how much it cost Oprah?

Gayle King was a very much admired reporter when she worked for a local TV station in Hartford. From the time she was hired by CBS she became a biased, woke liberal with no credibility.
