Jimmy Kimmel Live! has created a food donation center in Hollywood, the late night show announced Tuesday.
The Jimmy Kimmel Live Big, Beautiful Food Bank, located at the ABC show’s Hollywood backlot, will gather food and donations for the L.A. Food Bank and the St. Joseph Center.
“Cutting SNAP benefits creates uncertainty for American children, seniors and families. To support our community members in need, we’re starting a donation center,” a post on the Kimmel-hosted show’s Instagram account read in part. The show urged L.A. residents who are able to help to donate and directed those outside of L.A. to consider donating to their local food bank.

That’s cool but can he just like… donate a million dollars of his own money directly.
To get even further to the point: rich people could solve this problem in a second
Jimmy Kimmel was, like, the second last late night guy I had pinned as being brave enough to not be a fence sitter. It’s nice that he’s still using the platform to actually do something meaningful

I assume he’s been coordinating with the beneficiaries and this is what they asked for, but for anyone who may be motivated to help out…see what your nearest food bank needs. Mine much prefers cash donations as they can make a dollar stretch much further with their bulk purchasing.
It’s honestly so demoralizing that no matter how much money we donate to food banks and shelters, we’ll never be able to match the sheer scale and efficacy of SNAP. It’s nice to see people organize and chip in but god… god damn…………..
A few friendly reminders.
Look at the ingredients needed for boxed foods or cans—Some people might not have the milk and/or butter to make Kraft mac & cheese. Hamburger Helper is just Helper without the ground meat. Cereal doesn’t really hit if there’s no milk in the fridge. Etc.
Pop-top canned goods are more convenient, but otherwise consider also donating can openers.
Powdered milk is really helpful
