Abigail Spanberger won a decisive victory in the Virginia governor's race, defeating Winsome Earle-Sears by a double-digit margin. Meanwhile, in New Jersey, Mikie Sherrill beat Jack Ciattarelli in what was a high-stakes, closely watched contest.

    Their wins bring the total number of female governors to 14 – the most in U.S. history.

We really need to move past identity politics at a certain point.  I’m excited about some of these politicians, but plenty of women will throw other women under the bus to get ahead.  Being part of a marginalized community alone doesn’t say anything about someone’s politics or how they will treat others.
