What’s crazy is they attack him from this in both directions. When he talks about decriminalisation of prostitution or promotion of LGBTQ rights it’s all “oh, what kind of a Muslim is he, doesn’t he know that not allowed?”. When it’s things like this, suddenly it flips around too “see! Sharia law!!!”
They literally have no ability to see him outside of the context of the box they put him in, and therefore they just have to see every policy he has in that context too.

There’s nothing in the Quran or Hadith about smoking. Generally anything that’s unhealthy is discouraged but whether smoking is haram or not is debatable.
The people posting this shit are clearly not New Yorkers who frequent bodegas that are often owned by immigrants that are Muslim, and they sell beer, smokes and lotto tickets.
This makes no sense? The stores were to tackle cost of living food prices, why would they have additional non essential food items like lotto tickets and alcohol?
