‘Stranger Things’ cast members speak on roles, favorite set moments and growing up on the show

Oh my goodness. It’s changed my life in many ways as a professional person, as obviously an actor, and um and as a friend. It’s taught me a lot about being a person because I I’ve grown up on the show. There’s no shame in being the outcast and stay true and authentic to yourself. It’s amazing. I cannot wait for everyone to see it. It’s in season five. You’ll have to wait and see. Oh, I mean each season we just kind of escalate and stakes and the sca scale like overall production value and um this season is no exception. Um yeah, it’s it’s the big grand finale that the fans and the show deserve. Oh, I mean my friends and like knowing that we have this show and this these characters to bring us together every year. I’ll miss that. Favorite aspect of my character? Oh, her resilience. Yeah. Oh, he is my pride and joy and he’s taught me everything I know about myself and and helped me has guided me through my life. I mean, he Yeah, just the people. I mean, the cast and crew are like part of my childhood and they’re some of my best friends. They they’re like family genuinely. So, it’s I’m going to miss them a lot. How would you? Honestly, it’s funny you asked that because sometimes like I’m with Millie or with some of the castmates and I’m like, “Oh, okay. We have not changed at all since season one.” So, in some ways, not at all. But I feel like I’ve just, you know, grown a little more confidence and and understanding of how to how to approach the role, you know, after doing it for so many years. And lastly, what can I tease? Um, it’s my favorite season yet besides season one, and I’m just excited to share it with you guys. It’s meant a great deal. I mean, it’s a gift. Getting to For me, watch these kids grow up was one of the most beautiful experiences I’ve I’ve had as as an actress and person. And um yeah, it’s it’s a it’s an honor of a lifetime. I I think the axe was very cathartic in season 1 because when you’re trying to channel that that much emotion, you want to like release it in an aggressive way but not on a person. So I remember that that was um that that will always stay with me. Dancing with Shawn Austin to Kenny Rogers and Dolly Parton IS was one of the more magical moments I’ve had. Oh man, that’s a good question. I really like the weird interaction between him and his mom when he first brings Dart home in the um the Ghostbuster contrament. I forget what it’s called because I’m a fake fan. Uh but Kathy’s the best. And every time we got to do a little improv, it was the best. It was always fun. I just always giggle at it. I love those guys. They’re family. They’ll just be they’re going to be some of my closest friends for the rest of my life. And I couldn’t ask for a better group to share this with. Most metal ever’s fun from last year. She’s our friend and she’s Mike. I found the chocolate pudding as a classic. So that’s worth the worth the rewatch and me doing a classic little voice crack as I did frequently at 13. Just the consistency of it. It’s really rare for it’s it’s just every actor’s dream to be able to work on something not only this incredible, but to do it for so long. It’s it’s not a very common experience. And I don’t take it for granted and I’ve loved it for I’ve loved it just endlessly. Oh, I can’t say things without without spoiling them. So, I’m like, they’re all they’re listening. It’s going to be very good. I’m really excited for people to see it. Oh, getting to see all these people every day. Um cuz I think, you know, there would be no character without without the these other people playing these other characters. So, yeah, I’m going to miss that. I’m excited for people to see like honestly all of it. I think it’s like a really really chaotic, action-packed, but like incredibly emotional ride. So, I’m excited for fans to see that. I mean, so special. I would not be the person that I am, you know, without this show. And it’s it’s kind of deeply ingrained into my personality now. So, or my identity, I guess. So, I mean, it means everything. And it’s just cool to be able to be here with everyone and celebrate learning him. I guess every season is always a different story, a different journey and seeing where where that uh that door opens to and learning and then learning myself in that process. How am I going to attack this uh for myself as an actor, as a person? So, I think learning him has been like the most exciting journey and this kind of goes with that. Um I guess how I I’ve approached my life. I I grew up on the show. So, I um I guess Lucas has become me in a way and how I uh see life and how I um like I kind of built Lucas through like the foundation of who I was. Um just this like loyal, loving, passionate person that loves his family, loves his friends, will do anything for a loved one, thinks about him, thinks about others before himself. Um kind of seeing it all come full circle. I’m like, “Oh, wow. Lucas is a a couple of a version like a version of me for sure.” What are you going to enjoy? The family. The family. Uh being able to be on set with them. Uh long nights and long days. Uh of course we’ll be friends and keep in touch, but we won’t it won’t be the same, you know. It won’t be the same. Oh, spectacular. Spectacular. It’s uh it’s we’re it’s uh stakes are high. Yeah. Oh, yeah. Definitely. I think um in season 2 we had a great scene where we got to sort of have a real conversation on this train track and yeah it was the first time we had a real scene together I think and um just great moment for me. Yeah. if you Well, I I think it’s probably being included in such a great group of other actors. Um, all different ages and from all over the world and uh just kind of being able to learn from everybody and yeah, be included in something like this. I think, you know, you’re lucky as an actor to get a job at all, let alone a job on something that’s successful, let alone a job that would last 10 years. So just um yeah kind of leaving the experience feeling grateful for it all and excited to show what we did. It just start it’s what I can tease is that it starts in the action. You know there’s no rest bite from the start to the end. Um and I can tease that everybody really did bring their heart and soul to this season. Every character, every actor, you know, the writers, the bros, it really has it’s got so much heart. And I think that’s kind of when I’m watching it, I’m so impressed with I think I watching the performances this year as well from everyone. You’re like, “Oh, wow. Everyone really brought something.” And and also the writing, you know, the writing was really special this season and and kind of I think for fans, it’s got a little bit of I think, you know, everyone gets that moment. The people, you know, we’ve got to come and work with these people for 10 years of my life and the relationships that I’ve made while making this Um, yeah, that’s that’s going to be it. You know, we made a family here. So, yeah, there’s some like things for me in this season that, you know, there’s a couple there’s like two scenes that come to mind. There’s one in episode 6 and there’s one in episode 8. Uh that were just scenes that I got to shoot that, you know, as an for me were, you know, it was like what the show is for me and and and especially when I’m talking about like the relationships and things, it’s just like I got to do that and it was Yeah, it’s pretty special.
