Dodgers’ Alex Vesia Shares Death of His & Wife Kayla’s Baby Girl | E! News

Alex Vesia breaks his silence on his family emergency. On November 7th, the Los Angeles Dodgers player shares a photo on Instagram in a joint post with his wife Kayla, sharing the tragic death of their daughter, Sterling Soul, Vesia. The photo shows him and his wife holding hands with Sterling. Alex writes in the caption, “Sterling soul Vessia, our little angel. We love you forever and you’re with us always. Our beautiful daughter went to heaven Sunday, October 26th. There are no words to describe the pain we’re going through, but we hold her in our hearts and cherish every second we had with her.” He continues, “Thank you to the Dodgers for their understanding and support during this time. Our baseball family showed up for us and we wouldn’t be able to do this without them. Thank you, Dodger Nation, Blue Jays organization, and all baseball fans for your love and support. We have seen all your messages, comments, and posts. It’s brought us so much comfort. The news comes after the Dodgers announced that Alex would take some time away from the team as they advance to the World Series. Writing in an October 23rd statement, “It’s with a heavy heart that we share that Alex Via is stepping away from the team as he and his wife Kayla navigate a deeply personal family matter. The entire Dodgers organization is sending our thoughts to the Via family and we will provide an update at a later date. Alex and Kayla first announced they were expecting in April. Prior to the Dodgers World Series victory, Alex’s teammate showed their support for the family, wearing his number 51 on the side of their hat during game three against the Toronto Blue Jays.
