Matthew Rhys jokes that Keri Russell thinks he’s ‘creepy’ at ‘The Beast in Me’ premiere
Was it very hard to play someone creepy? Did was that a big stretch for you? No, it’s the part I always want, you know? It’s the fun one, right? And also the writing was so strong, right? I I think the wasn’t as much of a challenge, but the the the trick was not to get in the way of the writing and just to kind of be true to it. So, are you telling me that you’re creepy in real life or not? I’m sure you can ask my my other half and she she confirmed that quite hard. No, I don’t think so. Uh, have you had scary neighbors in your life? No, thankfully no scary neighbors. Um, I’ve been accused of being a scary neighbor. Really? Yeah. No, I don’t believe that. For what? I know. I’ve been I’ve been, you know, shouting, drinking, fighting, usual stuff, fireworks, that kind of thing. Like just letting off for Wait, it’s today the 5th. It is on Friday night. Yeah. Remember Remember the 5th? November. I used to love that. That was fun. Yeah. Did you live in the UK? Uh, no. In Australia and New Zealand, we did it there cuz we’re part of the Commonwealth. Um, did Wait, do do Welsh people hate the Brits as much as Scots do? English. Well, yes. Scot English people. Sorry, you’re right. Yes. Yes. Do they Who hates them all? The Scots or the Or the W? I I think the Welsh and Scots would have a quite a solid competition. Who hates them more? Right. And is there a big referendum movement in for Wales or not? It hasn’t. Not for not not like the Scots had. No, no. I mean, there’s a movement to push for independence, but who knows, right? And um what was your favorite part about filming this about this one? Yeah. Just that I I rarely ever get to play kind of characters like this, so I I relished sometimes too much at times kind of the the mustache twirl of it. Right. I got to tell you, I’ve interviewed you before on carpets. You have a fabulous sense of humor. You should be doing more comedy. That’s all I’m going to say. Fingers crossed. Fingers cross that I do.
