Katy Perry Says She “Struggled For Months” Over Emotional New Song | E! News
Katy Perry reveals she struggled for months over her emotional new song. After the teenage dream singer releases her new single, Band-Aids, which seemingly alludes to the end of her engagement with Ex Orlando Bloom, she is now revealing the internal struggle that came with putting it out into the world. Katie admits in a November 9th Instagram post, “I struggled for months with the idea of putting this song out. Even after all these years, it can be scary to be vulnerable. But hopefully the lyrics of this song resonate with someone going through what I have been through and maybe they won’t feel so alone and will find the strength to keep going like I have. In her newest song, which was released on November 6, the pop superstar, who shares 5-year-old daughter Daisy Dove with Orlando, details the end of a relationship that she tried so hard to save. Katie sings in the track, “Hand to God, I promise I tried. There’s no stone left unturned. It’s not what you did, it’s what you didn’t. You were there, but you weren’t. As she sings, Katie undergoes multiple painful experiences in the music video. But despite the worst parts of the relationship that she is singing about, Katie admits she has no regrets. By saying, “If I had to do it all over again, I would still do it all over again.” And as a train is about to crash into her, she looks over and sees a Daisy, giving her the strength to dodge the train before adding, “The love that we made was worth it in the end.
