David Beckham and King Charles allegedly bonded over having sons they barely see.Prince Harry and Brooklyn Beckham both live in California.Per a source, “both fathers understand what it means to love a son you barely see.”

David Beckham (sorry, SIR David Beckham!) was finally knighted, and apparently he and King Charles got a chance to bond during the ceremony. The topic of discussion? The fact that they both have sons living in the United States who they don’t get to see that often.

King Charles’ youngest son, Prince Harry, lives in Montecito with Meghan Markle and their two kids, while David Beckham’s eldest son, Brooklyn, also lives in California.

Per a palace aide who chatted to Rob Shuter’s #ShuterScoop, “They spoke afterward — both fathers understand what it means to love a son you barely see.”

Harry and Charles are coming off a years-long feud, but it looks like things have thawed slightly. The previously estranged father-son duo reunited for the first time in 19 months back in September, enjoying a 55-minute tea Clarence House. Though it wasn’t without drama thanks to Prince William being in the dark.

At the time, Rob Shuter’s #ShuterScoop reported that William was “blindsided” and “left stunned” when he found out about the meeting at the “very last second,” while a courtier noted that “William thought his father was back in London strictly for cancer treatment and official audiences. He had no idea Harry was on the schedule—and certainly wasn’t asked for input.” Another insider said that “If William had been consulted, he would have tried to block it. That’s why Charles went ahead quietly.”
