On Tuesday’s Jimmy Kimmel Live, the host broke down while remembering his childhood friend who passed away at 59 after complications from a liver transplant. We’ve been on the air for almost 23 years and I’ve had to do some hard monologues along the way, but this will uh this one’s the hardest. He spoke lovingly about their decadesl long friendship, calling Cleo a child prodigy whose musical talent and humor shaped the show from its very beginning. Escabo’s parents were present for the heartfelt tribute with his father performing on stage alongside the band. Following the loss, Kimmel has paused tapings this week to grieve privately and honor his friend’s legacy. And finally, actor James Vanderbeek is saying goodbye to some iconic TV memorabilia for a very personal reason. The Dawson’s Creek star is auctioning off treasured items from the show to help fund his ongoing cancer treatments. After revealing his stage three colarctal cancer diagnosis last year, Vanderbeek told People that teaming up with Prop Store for a live auction felt like the right time. Among the pieces up for grabs are Dawson’s prom necklace for Joey worth up to $52,800 and the outfit from the pilot episode. Proceeds will go toward his medical expenses and despite his health challenges, the actor says he’s optimistic and grateful for the support of friends and family.
