Did you ever imagine Barb’s disappearance and the show would make such a profound impact? I mean, people really cared that Barb was gone. Yeah. I did not think people would care about me or remember Barb at all. So, that was a huge shock. But, I just remember reading the scripts for season 1 and thinking, “Oh, this is really cool. I hope people like it.” And then like the whole world loved it. This was my first professional acting job, so I had never been on screen before. And it really just like kicked off my entire career. What are you working on now? Um, I’m directing actually. I’m making my first movie that I wrote and directed.

I don't care what happens to any of the characters at all, except for Barb. She is the main character and there's no debating that fact.

We all have been a Barb before, feeling tossed aside while your friend has fun with her new boyfriend and forgets about you a bit. It felt like the writers/story ignored her too and I think that bothered a lot of people
I cried when Barb disappeared, tbh. Shes too sweet!
I feel like a ton of people relate to Barb. Like either feeling uncool, or abandoned by a friend, or ignored by greater society. Barbs character just makes so much sense. She’s part of what makes stranger things so good!
I lost interest when Barb died because she was the voice of common sense 💛
i feel like alot of us could see ourself in barb, sitting alone out by the pool while your friend is elsewhere, then THAT happens to her
they accidentally made barb more beloved by forgetting about her character which just made the audience care more
