Now You See Me almost killed her

Isla Fischer nearly died in a Now You See Me stunt gone very wrong. So, it’s no wonder she didn’t return for the second movie. Now You See Me, Now You Don’t, the third film in the franchise, hits theaters today. And after sitting out the second film, Isa Fischer is back playing Henley Reeves. But you can bet she didn’t get back into a water tank on this one. You see, in the first movie, Fischer’s character performs an escape routine where she’s chained up in a water tank. In the script, the chain gets stuck and she struggles with it for a few seconds, but she’s ultimately able to get it loose and swim up to the top. Well, Fiser really did get into a water tank for that shot. But as she explained to Showbiz 411 in 2013, the chain got stuck for real. Quote, “It was not able to be broken. It was stuck and I was trapped and very scared.” Now, this is an issue because she was technically following the script in that moment. Fischer went on, “I was banging on the glass to everyone. Set me free, but everyone thought I was doing fabulous acting. They thought I was Meil Stre. Actually, I was drowning. All I was thinking about was me on the autopsy table bloated in the swimming costume and heels and how humiliating that would be. And then to make matters worse, Fischer said that she and the stunt team forgot to set up a safety signal in case of emergency. But as she revealed on Chelsea lately, a crew member finally realized there was an issue and they got her out of

    1. Okay but that’s not really on her for not setting up a safety signal. That’s a 100% on THE SAFTEY TEAM. I kinda hope they got fired and replaced for missing something THAT big. Like what do you mean your filming a scene where the actress is chained to the bottom of a water tank, freaking out and banging on the glass like she’s drowning and you didn’t think hang signs were important. That’s a HUGE miss

    2. The fact that nobody thought about setting safety signals just makes me doubt the quality of the crew, specially those related to safety. I've never worked with something even related to this and even I would think about this.
