Emma Heming Willis is embarking on a new passion project of sorts, following the release of her new book. On Friday, Nov. 14, Heming Willis shared some details about her upcoming plans and she asked fans for help.

“A caregiver’s journey is different for everyone, but one thing I’ve learned is how powerful and valuable it is when we share our stories. When we do, we support the next caregiver who might be feeling lost, alone, or fresh out of ideas,” she captioned an Instagram post.

“I’m starting a new community project in hopes it will take flight. For now, it will be a space for me to listen, learn, and begin compiling these important stories. If you’re caring for someone, or have in the past, I’d be honored to hear from you,” she continued.

Heming Willis has been caring for her husband Bruce Willis since he was diagnosed with aphasia followed by frontotemporal dementia. As Willis’ condition has progressed, Heming Willis has placed him in a separate home where he receives the proper care he needs at this point in his journey.

Along the way, Heming Willis has learned the roller coaster ride that is being a caregiver. Her experience inspired her book, The Unexpected Journey, and has influenced her to do more for the caregiver community — hence this new project.

Heming Willis asks those who wish to participate to send her a “reflective” email based on two prompts: “What would you tell your younger caregiving self just starting this journey?” and “How did you get the support you needed from family and friends?”

“What you choose to share could help another caregiver in more ways than you realize. Everything you send will stay confidential and be read only by me and my team,” Heming Willis concluded.
