Billy Bob Thornton Shares Where He Stands With Ex Angelina Jolie | E! News

Billy Bob Thornton is revealing where he and Angelina Jolie stand after their split. The actors, who are married from 2000 to 2003, have maintained a close relationship despite their breakup as Billy Bob shared to Rolling Stone in an interview November 17th, quote, “Angelina and I had a great time together. That was one of the greatest times of my life. She and I are still very, very close friends.” As the Oscar winner explained, he and Angie had a quote really civilized breakup with their split coming as a result of different lifestyles. And looking back on their marriage now, Billy Bob, who’s been married six times, admits the frenzy surrounding it was quote, “pretty weird.” He continues, quote, “When we met, I was the more famous one, and then when we got together, for some reason, the people in the media are very interested in celebrity couples. That seems to be a very popular thing.” He recalled, “The two couldn’t go anywhere together, and when they did, anything they said became sound bites. Take for example the time they revealed they wore vials of each other’s blood, which they have long insisted was never the case. He explains, quote, “We each had a little locket, literally with a drop of blood in them. That’s a romantic little idea, and that’s all that was. But by the time it’s over, we’re vampires. We live in a dungeon. We drink each other’s blood and this kind of stuff.” And while things didn’t work out with Angelina, Billy Bob joked that he told people at the time, quote, “At least I was trying. [Music]
