This Is Hilarious! Blake Lively’s Very Expensive Lawyers Called Out By The Judge! Take A Big Loss!

I told you then that Beldoni and his co-producer on It Ends With Us, Jamie Heath, suffered a devastating, humiliating, inappropriate loss. The judge ruled that his producing partner Jaime Heath has to hand over to Ezra’s cash cow intimate home video of Jaime’s wife giving birth. Even though Jamie said he did not show any video of the birth, it was just postbirth. A lot of folks think this is inappropriate. Not very women forward, women centric, women supporting women. Gross, nasty ick. Well, unfortunately for the critically acclaimed Teen Choice Award winner, things did not go her way today. As many of you know, since last year, Belon and the Wayfairer defendants have used Melissa Nathan, the crisis communications expert, and her company TAG, the agency group. Bland Boozley went after sanctions against Melissa Nathan as well because of redactions. Remember this? We went over it. Too much redactions. Unnecessary redactions. Redaction. Redaction. Well, my former arch nemesis, Judge Lyman, just issued a ruling on redaction gate. Big L. Let’s get into it. Lewis J. Lyman, United States District Judge. Plaintiff Blake Lively moves to sanction defendant Melissa Nathan for purportedly violating this court’s order dated August 27th, 2025, which among other things directed that Nathan modify the redactions in her previous productions to replace blackbox redactions with textbox redactions, indicating the reason for the redaction. The court granted that relief as unopposed. Lively now asserts that Nathan is in violation of the order because Nathan’s revised redactions were over broad and therefore still improper. Nathan responds that she replaced blackbox redactions with textbox redactions and that the order required no more. The motion for sanctions is denied. Why? Judge Lyman says on August 4th, 2025, Lively moved to compel the Wayfairer parties to produce certain documents and to correct other discovery deficiencies. as relevant here. Lively sought to compel the wayfairer parties and Nathan in particular to comply with the party’s previous agreement that any documents produced in discovery would indicate on their face the basis for redactions meaning why. And by the way, the irony of it all, the mistress of misrepresentation loves redactions. She has overly used redactions way more than Wayfairer, I think. How about you? you lively contended that Nathan’s production failed to indicate the basis for withholding information and that Nathan should be ordered to do so. Lively’s reply memorandum of law made no further mention of improper redactions. Ezra Mikey. In response to the motion to compel, the Wayfairer parties asserted that they would modify the redactions in their previous productions as necessary to replace blackbox redactions with textbox red. This is just I still think this is just all so ridiculous and very on brand for team ridicula. In response to the motion to compel, the Wayf Farer parties asserted that they would modify the redactions in their previous productions as necessary to replace blackbox redactions with textbox redactions indicating the reason for redaction where applicable and reproduce the affected documents. In its order addressing the motion to compel, the court noted the wayfairer party’s nonopposition to providing revised redactions and it granted the motion on that basis. Nathan subsequently produced documents bearing revised textbox redactions. Lively now contends that those revised redactions were improperly over broad and therefore failed to comply with the order. Lively notes, for example, that certain materials Nathan has redacted as nonresponsive are in fact relevant and responsive, as indicated by the fact that other parties have produced the same materials in unredacted form. Contrary to Lively’s suggestion, the order did not compel the production of documents bearing blackbox reductions. Rather, given Lively’s framing of the issue and the Wayfairer party’s corresponding response, the court’s directive that Nathan address her improper redactions meant that Nathan was required to provide revised textbox redactions explaining the reasons for any redactions. There is no dispute that Nathan did so. But Lively now asserts that Nathan’s revised redactions are over broad and therefore traded one deficiency for another. But the time to raise that argument was before the close of fact discovery. There is no contention that Nathan provided her revised redactions after the close of fact discovery, which might excuse the motions untimeliness. On the contrary, Lively’s council conferred with council for the wayfairer parties regarding the revised reductions on September 24th, 2025, approximately 1 week before the end of fact discovery. Lively asserts that council for the wayfairer parties were not prepared to discuss the redactions at that time. But if that is correct, the appropriate course of action would have been to file a motion to compel before fact discovery ended, not to wait over a month before raising the issue for the court for the first time. Because the order did not require the production of the redacted documents, only additional explanation for their redaction. And because Lively had an opportunity to contest the revised redactions prior to the close of fact discovery, but did not do so. Her motion for sanctions is denied. Ah, the clerk of court is respectfully directed to close the motion at docket number 900. So ordered, Lewis J. Lyman. I especially love that this order, the judge’s ruling today, was mainly about lackluster lawyering. Ezra, Lil Lion, Mikey. You could have gotten this for your client, but you sucked too hard.
